Lander Challenge
Take rocketry to the next level with vertical landing technology. Delve into the critical factors of a gimbal system, thrust termination, and attenuated landing legs that culminate with a student competition to land upright within a designated target.
Outreach
Sharing our excitement for space-relevant technologies with youth and community through engaging concept demonstrations, competition livestreams, and authentic learning experiences. We look to inspire the next generation in space exploration.
Impact
Our Story
A collaboration between the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to promote interest in STEM career pathways, especially those in the space domain. Through the fabrication of integrated educational resources on space-related technologies, we seek to support learners’ development of fundamental knowledge and hands-on capabilities. Learners will engage in direct experiences of systems that emphasize command, control, and data acquisition integral to space endeavors.
